Amy Miller and Henry Rogers – Living Kidney Donor and Kidney Recipient

“To me, that means the Gift of Life that Amy has given to Henry. I gave him life once, and she’s given him life as a gift later.” – Elizabeth Rogers

Our son, Henry, was born in end stage renal failure and began peritoneal dialysis at 1-month-old. We did peritoneal dialysis every night for two years while waiting for him to grow large enough for a kidney transplant. During that time, we met Amy through a bible study held in our home. Amy offered to donate her kidney to Henry when she heard our story.

After months of testing everyone in the family, it was time for Amy to get tested. It turned out she was a match! Henry received one of Amy’s kidneys on May 15, 2018.

Since the transplant Henry is a new boy. He grew five inches in the first year. He is talking, running, swimming and playing – just like the other kids his age. He started school in March 2018 and is thriving! We are so thankful for Amy’s generous spirit. I may have given birth to Henry, but Amy gave him the Gift of Life. We are forever grateful.
