LifeCenter is hosting its 4th Annual Live Healthy & Move Health and Wellness Fair in partnership with WeTHRIVE! Forest Park and the Forest Park Fire Department on Saturday, August 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is at Central Park in the city of Forest Park, located at 1201 West Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45240.
This Health and Wellness Fair is also in recognition of August being National Minority Donor Awareness Month. There are more than 104,000 people in the United States waiting on a lifesaving organ transplant, and 60 percent of them are people of color.
Everyone in the community is invited to this free, fun, family-friendly event with free food from area food trucks, and Kona Ice. New this year, we are offering soccer with prizes for the winners. In addition to food and soccer, we will have a variety of nonprofits and community organizations to connect you with resources and services you may need. For those with children, Forest Park also boasts the largest ninja obstacle course in Ohio.
“We encourage everyone to come and prioritize their health in a welcoming, safe environment. Your health matters!,” Audrey Holtzman, LifeCenter’s Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager, said. “Preventing diabetes and kidney disease ensures you will have a better quality of life and will be there for yourself and your family. It also means you can prevent the need for a lifesaving transplant.”
While learning, you can enjoy the return of DJ Andy G and line dancing. DJ Andy G always knows how to get everyone moving and singing along!
LifeCenter’s Health and Wellness Fair is also a can’t-miss opportunity for everyone to have the chance to meet local sports mascots, Rosie Red from the Cincinnati Reds, Gary from FC Cincinnati, and the Bearcat from the Cincinnati Bearcats. The mascots make for great photo-ops with the kids (and adults).
Did we mention everything is free? The event, the resources and services, the mascots, and the food, it’s all FREE.
Thank you to our Hero Sponsors, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Organ Recovery Systems, for helping support our event.
