The Champions for Life and Theodore E. Smith Awards are presented at the LifeCenter Community Breakfast taking place in November.

  • A Champion for Life is someone who has been an outstanding advocate for organ and tissue donation. Anyone can be a Champion for Life! Past Champion for Life recipients have included physicians, nurses, teachers, organ recipients, donor families, work colleagues, friends, family members, religious leaders, volunteers, hospital staff and administration and so many in between.
  • The Theodore E. Smith Award, similar to the Champion for Life award, recognizes the contributions of individuals who have made significant contributions in the education and or promotion of the importance of organ and tissue donation with the exception that their efforts are directed toward the minority community of Greater Cincinnati. This award’s namesake is in honor of former LifeCenter employee, Theo E. Smith, who has since passed away but his legacy lives on through others.
