LifeCenter Organ Donor Network (LifeCenter) continues to grow in its mission to save, heal and change lives in Greater Cincinnati, with the addition of two new leadership positions.
LifeCenter is an independent, not-for-profit organ procurement organization (OPO) serving 2.1 million people across 16 counties and three states. At its Cincinnati office, LifeCenter has a designated tissue recovery suite.
To better serve those in LifeCenter’s service area, Matt Niles and Tracie Shelton were recently added to the LifeCenter team as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Administration and Process Improvement Officer, respectively.
Niles comes from the Washington Regional Transplant Community, the OPO serving the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. He was the Director of Clinical Services for more than nine years. Niles is a registered nurse and has worked as a bedside nurse in critical care and emergency departments.
His connection to donation is that he’s a tissue donor family, an organ donor friend, an organ recipient friend, and had a friend pass away while on the national waiting list.
According to current figures, 105,800 men, women, and children are waiting for a life-saving organ in the United States.
In his role, Niles will oversee organ recovery, family and hospital services, tissue services, which includes tissue recovery and donation support services, and community relations, including donor family aftercare.
“I am humbled and honored to join the team at LifeCenter. It is a privilege to do this work, and I am excited to support the mission of the organization,” Niles said.
Shelton previously worked at UC Health for more than three and a half years, moving up the ranks to Director of Quality and Safety UCMC Administration. She also has a master’s degree in nurse executive leadership and is a certified professional in healthcare quality.
In her role, Shelton will oversee quality, finance and accounting, human resources, and business intelligence.

Both Niles and Shelton report to Barry Massa, executive director of LifeCenter.
