January 2023 LifeCenter Calendar Story of Hope

Gail was simply amazing. She had the kindest soul and would do anything for anyone. She lived her life to serve others, so when given the opportunity to honor her wishes as a registered donor, we were thankful that her cancer didn’t stop her from being a hero. Losing Gail was extremely hard, but knowing someone can now see again because of her, provides us with comfort.

I encourage other families when faced with the tough decision to have their loved ones become a donor to say, “YES.” It may not make it easier right now, but down the road, it does ease the pain knowing that your loved one impacted the world so positively even after they have passed. When asked if you want to be a registered donor, say, “YES.” If you have the chance to save others and change the world, wouldn’t you want to do that upon your passing? Be that HERO someone may need; you and your actions will never be forgotten. Gail will forever be our shining light and her recipient’s hero.
